Agriculture is the major component of the life and culture of Rajasthan located in the North Western Part of India. Before partition most of the agriculture produce were sold and it was one of the premium business centres.
However, due to partition some land areas went under Pakistan and after some years since 1947, we recovered well after partition due to the launching of various 5 Year Plans in the state for years to come. The state consists of the largest population of farmers and the livestock and is playing a major role in the growth and development of our economy.
Rajasthan is one of the largest states In India and growth and development of agriculture is taking place due to changes in Climates, Topography, Historical, Institutional and the Socio Economic affairs across the state in the last 10 years.
The growth and development of Agriculture in Rajasthan is very unique and without a shadow of doubt the credit goes to the farmers of the state. These people work their way through under hopeless climate conditions like extreme dry, cold and even hotter conditions. They risk their lives and contribute to the growth of the state of Rajasthan and must be complemented by people from all walks of life.
One such initiative is the launch of the Krishak Upahaar Yojana where in the farmers are given rich gifts and incentives to motivate them to stick to the Agriculture and enhance their productivity in the same segment. This is the major enterprise created by the Government of Rajasthan to bring glory to agro activity in the state.
There is an increase in the production of the Pulses, Fruits and the Vegetables, , Commercial Crops, since 2011 and the Government of Rajasthan has rewarded the agrarian segment with awards like the Krishak Upahaar Yojana with lucrative cash prizes.
Let me also tell you that some places in Rajasthan are having 15% areas covered with black soil ideal for Cotton, Oilseeds and Sunflower cultivation contribution to the rise of the state.
OBJECTIVES OF THE KRISHAK UPAHAAR YOJANA
- To encourage the farmers in Rajasthan to stick to agriculture and contribute to the society.
- To bring the Agriculture sector at par and ahead of other segments in the economy of the state.
- Appreciate the hard work and dedication done by the farmers of the state of Rajasthan in building the state and the nation.
VISION OF THE KRISHAK UPAHAAR YOJANA
To give importance to Agro Marketing by introducing procedures across the fields, markets and reduce the gap between the producer and buyers in Rajasthan and improving real time production at reasonable prices to reach maximum people.
MISSION OF THE KRISHAK UPAHAAR YOJANA
- Give importance to the Pan India trade for the agricultural products through reasonable price based on Quality.
- To improve the concept of the Rural Entrepreneurship through the Capability development and enhanced productivity.
- Give importance to the rural livelihood in the state of Rajasthan, and promoting the supportable food systems and resources in a logical manner.
FEATURES OF THE KRISHAK UPAHAAR YOJANA
The features of the Krishak Upahaar Yojana are given below as follows:
- To encourage the growth of the local knowledge and innovation in the state of Rajasthan.
- This plan was launched by the Government of Rajasthan on 1st January 2022.
- Encourages the farmers in the state to register and do business using a transparent network system minus the middlemen.
- The farmers will get a fair share of the produce through the rise of the State and the National Agricultural Markets.
- Once in 6 months this award is introduced to boost agro produce.
- The farmers must sale the crops more than INR 10000 in a year to be eligible for getting the Krishak Upahaar Yojana.
- The first prize is INR 50000, second prize is INR 25000 and the third prize is INR 10000.
- Motivating the farmers in the state to value their ecosystems and the environments.
- To be more effective creative and innovative in achieving the good quality in the field of agricultural productions.
- Promoting the farmers in the state to get a fair price by selling their produce so the earning of the farming community increases.
- The farmers under this scheme are entitled to get a e-voucher from the government for his/her hard work in increasing productivity.
- It gives the power to the farmers of the state to increase the profit by deciding on the nature of the crops and the nature of the farming techniques.
- This will encourage farmers to be more business oriented and set up more Agro Units in the state.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR THE BECOMING THE MEMBER OF THE KRISHAK UPAHAAR YOJANA
There are certain eligibility criteria required for becoming the member of the Krishak Upahaar Yojana given below as follows:
- The farmer must be born in the state of Rajasthan.
- The age of the farmer must be above 20 years of age.
- Only farmers can participate in this scheme and no Agro entrepreneurs or Agro Units are eligible.
- The farmer should clear the Matriculation with good percentage.
- The farmer must have done crop sales of more than INR 10000 in the state of Rajasthan in a particular year from 1st Jan 2022 to 31st Dec 2022.
SUPERIOR STRATEGIES INTRODUCED BY THE RAJASTHAN GOVERNMENT TO HAVE SUSTAINABLE GROWTH
There are numerous higher end strategies introduced by the Government of Rajasthan to encourage the sustainable growth in the field of agriculture.
The Government of Rajasthan has introduced several steps to stress on good agricultural productivity in the state and make a difference. They are given below as follows:
DOMESTIC MEASURES:
- Land and Soil Health Management.
- Providing the Credit and effective Insurance Policies.
- Stressing on the superior Water Management.
- Giving the effective Value addition and Processing.
- Stressing on the superior Marketing Research and Execution.
- Fodder and Livestock Management.
- Crop management by giving quality treatment at designated units in the state.
FOREIGN MEASURES:
For improving the quality of agricultural produce and offering superior water management in the state of Rajasthan, the government constituted a high level committee consisting of prominent farmers, agricultural specialists, experts to analyse the means to undertake the Hi-Tech Desert Agriculture in Israel.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Government of Rajasthan and Israeli Government aimed at having high quality agro produce in Rajasthan.
Companies like Netafim, Revivim and others were roped in and some centres were established like--

Government also encourages the cultivation of Fruits and make sure they compete with the best in National and International markets.
PROCEDURE FOR APPLYING UNDER KRISHAK UPAHAAR YOJANA
The procedures for applying in order to get the maximum benefits under the Krishak Upahaar Yojana are given below as follows:

- Please click on the link Registration on top right hand corner.
- Enter all the basic information asked in the website and make sure that it is authentic.
- Upload all the documents like Passbook, ID Proof, and Cancelled Cheque in PDF formats.
- Click on the submit button and you will get the message and instructions to be followed in the registered mobile number, or email.
DOCUMENT REQUIRED FOR ENROLMENT UNDER THE KRISHAK UPAHAAR YOJANA
The documents required for getting enrolled under the Krishak Upahaar Yojana are given below as follows:
- Matriculation Certificate of each farmer of Rajasthan.
- Recent Passport and Stamp size photos of the applicant.
- Nativity Certificate confirmed by the gazetted officer.
- The Certificate given by the Government of Rajasthan stating that the applicant has done any course in farming will be a bonus.
- The Aadhar Card Xerox of the applicant.
- Cancelled Cheque of the eligible farmer showing account details.
- The Date of Birth Certificate attested by the gazetted officer.
- The Statements showing the Income/Expenditure details updated till date.
- The No Objection Certificate from the recognised bank.
- The attested copies of the invoices by the gazetted officer.
- The Address Proofs like the Electricity Bills and the Property Documents.
- The Xerox Copies of Passport, Ration card, and Voter Id, signed by the gazetted officer.
- The Caste certificate attested by the gazetted officer.
Hence, one can say that under the Krishak Upahaar Yojana launched by the Government of Rajasthan, the farmers will be forced to think on commercial lines to enhance his or her produce and give the best output to the state and its people, thereby enhancing the economic growth and development.
