Rajasthan, as the name suggests is originating from the earlier term Rajputana and in Hindi this term means the Land of Kings is identical and another name for Heroism, Royalty and Honour. Historic tales of battles fought and romance of the riches decorate the walls of the state.
This state is one of the oldest in India and set up in the period marked with folk tales, folklores and the wartime narratives passed on from generations to generations and still living in the present scenario.
The language spoken in this state is Hindi and Rajasthani, and the capital is Jaipur. The currency used is INR (Indian Rupees). Shri. Ashok Gehlot is the Chief Minister of this state.

- Encouraging the development of Rajasthan as a primary destination in national and international markets.
- Promote diversity and innovation in tourism segment and encourage connectivity to lesser known places.
- To provide connectivity to rest of India from Rajasthan through good Roadways, Airplanes and Railways.
VISION OF THE RAJASTHAN TOURISM POLICY
To make Rajasthan as the most powerful destination for both the domestic and the foreign tourists by giving a memorable experience and bringing in sustainable policies for Protecting the Natural, Historical and the Cultural Heritage of the State and also speeding up the superior Socio Economic Growth by enhancing the livelihood chances for the local populations.
MISSION OF THE RAJASTHAN TOURISM POLICY
- Stress on offering the one stop platforms in Rajasthan to obtain various online approvals and permissions.
- Empowering the Tourism Department with superior administrative structure for getting the approvals for the establishment of various tourism units.
- Giving effective market research and statistical information to the units in order to do better forecasting and policy making.
FEATURES OF THE RAJASTHAN TOURISM POLICY
The features of the Rajasthan Tourism Policy sponsored by the Government of Rajasthan are given below as follows:
- The logo of the Rajasthan Tourism is Padharo Mharo Desh.
- To provide good connections to various tourist destinations in Rajasthan through the Road, Air and Railways.
- To give authority to the tourism department of the state for developing suitable infrastructure.
- To encourage the wellness tourism in Rajasthan offering Naturopathy, Ayurveda, Herbal and Yoga facilities.
- To improve hygiene and cleanliness at various tourist places and creating social awareness at various Tourist Places in Rajasthan.
- Creation of the Development Fund for Tourism in order to develop and promote rural infrastructure like Good Amenities, Road Connectivity, Drinking Water, Power, Internet Connectivity and Home stay resorts.
- Developing the tribal areas in the state with quality infrastructure to have access to monuments, temples and scenic beauties.
- To have more inventions in the existing tourism policies and offer new package making it a memorable experiences.

- Providing Pre paid taxis and Cab booths at suitable locations in the state.
- Setting up of various ATM booths in the tourist location to assist travellers in doing financial transactions.
- To introduce various incentives in the state to encourage the adventure tourism.
- Construction of extra hotels, or the Guest Accommodation in the state to attract the tourists.
- A unique cell will be created to effectively assist with the Department of Civil Aviation, Environment and Forest in order to get clearance for adventure activities in the state.

The Government of Rajasthan has come up with the Rajasthan Tourism Policy to boost the tourism in the state and some of the amazing incentive schemes available are:
- Travel Packages will be made reasonable to attract Indian and foreign tourist in the state.
- Asking the government and private parties to donate their lands to the Tourism Department to construct new tourist destinations.
- Setting up the Eco-system task force to analyse the trends and other suitable measures in the state.
- 5% of the budget for transport is spent on connecting roads to various tourism destinations.
- Establishment of the TAF (Tourist Assistance Force) at various places in the state of Rajasthan.
- Organising the Rajasthan Start up Tourism Connects to encourage the start-ups in Jewellery, Agro-tech, Tourism, Technology and Healthtech.
- Incentives for tourist growth and development in the form of Signage, Accommodations, Home Stays, Drinking Water, Net Connections and others.
- Declaration of Special Tourism Zones (STZ) in the state to enhance the brand developments in a logical manner.
- Exemption from all the kinds of fees during the film shooting is given to the parties to promote tourism.
- Skill development projects for the youth in rural areas leading to the self-employment.
- Asking the colleges and Universities in Rajasthan to incorporate the Tourism and Hospitality Courses in the institutions.
- Undertaking village handicrafts and handloom shows showing the distinct culture of the villages in the state.
Rajasthan is a vibrant state blessed with amazing natural and man made resources.
