The population of the senior citizens and old people have been increasing over the years in Rajasthan. Their rights are being invaded upon each day and protection of them is very vital in order to balance the human rights and they are the most defenceless class of our society.

Rajasthan is also having a sizable population, which includes a huge part the world’s poor and some components of the world’s elderly populace. Hence the need of the hour is to offer
 the social security to the elderly and then gives them assistance. The Government of Rajasthan under the leadership of Shri. Ashok Gehlot has come up with the Rajasthan Old Age Pension Scheme to protect the elderly people and bring them into the national mainstream.

OBJECTIVES OF THE RAJASTHAN OLD AGE PENSION SCHEME

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR ENROLMENT UNDER THE RAJASTHAN OLD AGE PENSION SCHEME


There are various documents required for getting enrolled under the Rajasthan Old Age Pension Scheme and it is given below as follows.

  • The Passport size photos self-attested.
  • The Birth Certificate verified by the gazetted officer.
  • The Residential Certificate verified by the gazetted officer.
  • The Nativity Certificate copy verified by the gazetted officer.
  • The Senior citizen certificate verified by the gazetted officer.
  • The Widow certificate—when female loses her male counterpart.
  • The Attested copy of Aadhar Card verified by the gazetted officer.
  • The Xerox Copy of Passport, Ration card, Voter Id, and PAN Card verified by the gazetted officer.
  • The Xerox of the Physically Handicapped Certificate if the elderly is disabled.

The old age pension is an idyllic component in order to protect the interest of the old people and promote their welfare. The right to security in the income during the old age is in line with the human rights policies and international labour policies. More than half of the people does not receive the pension as many do not have income security.
