Agriculture plays an essential role in the Indian economy and the role of the same segment in the state of Madhya Pradesh cannot be ignored. Although its involvement to Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is now around one sixth, it provides employment to 80per cent of the Indian workforce.
Madhya Pradesh is a state located in Central India and enclosed by Chhattisgarh in the East, Uttar Pradesh in the North, Maharashtra in the South and Rajasthan and Gujarat in the West.
The most commonly spoken language is Hindi, Marathi and English used by the people of Madhya Pradesh. Bhopal is the capital of Madhya Pradesh and the cities like Gwalior, Indore, Jabalpur and Ujjain are some of the strategic cities of the state.
The growth of most of the commercial crops has been noteworthy for encouraging exports of agricultural commodities and bringing quicker development of agriculture and the agro-based industries in Madhya Pradesh.
The 12th Five Year Plan also indicates that agricultural development is an important constituent of quicker, more all-inclusive maintainable growth in the state.
The Mukhyamantri Kisan Kalyan Yojana is the major scheme undertaken by the Government of Madhya Pradesh in the year 2021 to boost the lives of farmers and make them independent.
OBJECTIVES OF THE MUKHYAMANTHRI KISAN KALYAN YOJANA
The objectives of the Mukhyamantri Kisan Kalyan Yojana are given below as follows:
- To work towards the welfare of the farmers by giving subsidies in agricultural assistance in the state of Madhya Pradesh.
- Enhancing the supply of quality seeds, improving the soil nutrients, doing agricultural research and extensions to enhance the marketing of the agricultural produce.
- Stress on the development of the farmers of the backward regions of the state and increase their yield per hectare.

To promote Agriculture and the Agro-business by encouraging the institutional, Government and Private sector investments to ensure the growth and development of all farmers in the state of Madhya Pradesh.
MISSION OF THE MUKHYAMANTHRI KISAN KALYAN YOJANA
- To connect small and large scale farmers to various markets in the state of Madhya Pradesh in association with Private, Public and other Corporate Segments in a systematic manner.
- Improve the lives of the farmers of the state and make them self-reliant to handle any issues in life.
- Expanding the credit facilities for the farmers in order to enhance the agricultural produce.
FEATURES OF THEMUKHYAMANTHRI KISAN KALYAN YOJANA
The features of the Mukhyamantri Kisan Kalyan Yojana are given below as follows:
- The financial assistance of INR 4000 will be given to the farmers on a yearly basis.
- This scheme was launched by the Government of Madhya Pradesh on 30January 2021.
- The amount is directly transferred to the bank account details given by the farmers.
- Under the Mukhyamanthri Kisan Kalyan Yojana the first instalments is INR 2000 and the remaining instalment will be given after the period of 6 months.
- All the farmers living in the state of Madhya Pradesh will be considered as an integral part of this scheme.
- 1800 Crores rupees has been transferred to the account of 80 Lakhs farmers in the state under this scheme.
- Extension is given to the farmers who have taken the loans under this scheme and this has come as a big relief for the farming community in the state of Madhya Pradesh.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR THEMUKHYAMANTHRI KISAN KALYAN YOJANA
The eligibility conditions for becoming the member under the Mukhyamanthri Kisan Kalyan Yojana are given below as follows:
- The beneficiary must be a farmer from Madhya Pradesh.
- The beneficiary must be above 20 years of age.
- The farmer in Madhya Pradesh must have the cultivatable land less than 4 acres.
- The farmer must be living Below the Poverty Line.
- Only the small and the marginal farmers will be able to take the advantage of this scheme.
DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR ENROLMENT IN THE MUKHYAMANTHRI KISAN KALYAN YOJANA
The documents required for getting enrolled under the under the Mukhyamanthri Kisan Kalyan Yojana are given below as follows:
- Birth Certificate attested by the Gazetted officer.
- Xerox of the Rural Certificates.
- Attested Xerox copy of Aadhar and Pan Card.
- Passport size photos.
- Xerox of the Annual Income Certificate.
- Xerox of the Caste Certificates for SC/ST/OBC.
- Xerox copy of the Bank Account statements.
- Xerox copy of Driving License certified by the Gazetted officer.
- Land document Kasra Number with document details.
- Xerox of the Nativity Certificate.
- Xerox copy of Ration card signed by the Gazetted officer.
- Xerox copy of the Voter ID attested by Gazetted officer.
- Certificates stating that farmers have taken training in farming practices from a government recognised establishment in Madhya Pradesh.
- Xerox of the Physically Handicapped Certificates.
- Xerox of the Ex-Servicemen Certificate if the farmer is an Ex-serviceman.
- Bank Passbook showing the first and the last page Xerox signed by the Gazetted officer.
PROCEDURE FOR APPLYING FORENROLMENT IN THE MUKHYAMANTHRI KISAN KALYAN YOJANA
The procedures for applying for the enrolment under the Mukhyamantri Kisan Kalyan Yojana are given below as follows.
- You must go to the nearest Gram Panchayat office in Madhya Pradesh.
- You must take the application form under the Mukhyamantri Kisan Kalyan Yojana.
- You can select forms under the categories like the Rural Farmers Registration and Urban Farmers Registrations.
- You must enter all relevant information like Name, Age, Sex, Married/Unmarried, Mobile Number, Aadhar Card details, State, Village Name, Taluk, District name, Address, Caste Certificate, Rural or Nativity Certificate Number.
- The OTP (One Time Password) number is shown in the mobile and the applicant must enter that information.
- Enter all the relevant details and attach the copies of the documents.
- The applicant must submit the additional documents asked within 7 business days.
- Submit the application to the Village Level Officer or the Block Development Officer.
- It takes 1 month to approve or reject the application and message will be available in the mobile number given in the application.
MEANS TO SEE THE BENEFICIARY LIST UNDER THE MUKHYAMANTHRI KISAN KALYAN YOJANA
There are various means to see the list under the Mukhyamantri Kisan Kalyan Yojana and it is given below as follows:
- Go to the same website given below.
- Click on the option Beneficiary list under the farmer’s corner.
- Click on the option Aadhar Number and click on the option Get Data.
- Select the State, District, Sub district, Block and Village.
- Click on the button Get Report and the report gets generated.
- You will see the details of all the beneficiaries in the list, and you can check if the name is available or not.
- It will take 1 month time for the beneficiary to become the member under the Mukhyamantri Kisan Kalyan Yojana.
Thus agriculture policy not only encourages the complete growth of the agriculture and economy but also reduces the poverty by providing employment and food security to the majority of the populace in Madhya Pradesh.
