Agriculture plays a vital role in our economy and the government role is very huge and some of the reasons behind uplifting the agriculture segment are the Employment Creation, Self-Sufficiency, Backing the Small and the Medium level Producers for executing modern technologies and ideas, Shrinkage of the price variability and extension of the Income of farm households.
About 80 per cent of the rural households in Madhya Pradesh depend on agriculture as their primary means of income.
Let us understand the meaning of the term subsidies in Agriculture. A subsidy is always viewed as the opposite of a tax is the mechanism of monetary policy. It is also derived from the Latin word “Subsidium‟, a subsidy truthfully implies giving the assistance from behind.
Let me put it in simple words, It is a sum of money allowed by the state or a public organisation to benefit an Agriculture, Industry or any other business and keep the price of a product at a reasonable rate to support the vast section of the society and encourage their welfare.
Madhya Pradesh is having good cultivable land area and there is lot of investment done in agriculture since Independence. Furthermore, there is enhancement in provision of fund diverted towards agriculture sector in five year plans and annual budgets in the state in harmony with agriculture subsidies.
The Government of Madhya Pradesh decided to implement the Kisan Anudhan Yojana in the state in order to assist the Farmers in undertaking cultivation of several crops and purchase equipment’s.
The assistance can be obtainable by reducing the price of Seeds, Fertilisers, Pesticides, Insecticides, and the Manure. In the present scenario 80% of the people are still dependent on Agriculture and if you look at the subsidies in the field of Agriculture done by the government has seen astonishing rise in the past 10 years.
OBJECTIVES OF THE KISAN ANUDAN YOJANA
- To assist in goal of getting Self-Sufficiency in the food production and giving the support prices to farmers in Madhya Pradesh.
- To play a major role in offering the better cropping patterns, income and employment patterns of the recipients.
- To bridge the gap between consumer prices and producer costs lead to changes in demand and the supply scenarios in the state of Madhya Pradesh.

MISSION OF THE KISAN ANUDAN YOJANA

- Encourage the concept of higher production and consumptions in the state.
- Achieve the process of fixing the reasonable rates towards the distribution of agricultural equipment, offering Fertilisers and Pesticides, Irrigation, Electricity and Development of Soil and Seeds in the state.
FEATURES OF THE KISAN ANUDAN YOJANA
The features of the Kisan Anudan Yojana are given below as follows:
- We offer subsidies to the farmers in purchase of Fertilisers, Pesticides, Seeds and other inputs.
- The financial assistance will be between INR 30000 to INR 60000 in the state for the agriculturists.
- Integrated Cereals Development plans cover 300 villages was brought in places like Durg, Panna, Seoni, Rewa, Mandla, Bilaspur, Raigarh, Satna and Shahdol.
- Making the basic items available to the poor and medium size farmers through the extension of consumer services in the state.
- To revolve around making Madhya Pradesh one of the most developed states in India.
- Undertaking quality seeds distribution like Wheat, Rice, Jowar and Paddy like INR 250 per quintals.
- In all the districts of the state subsidies on seeds and implements are given to the farmers.
- Providing the training to the farmers in Madhya Pradesh by offering them INR 100 per day to them for 5 days.
- The subsidies will be offered to the applicant based on the equipment available with them.
- 50% of the subsidies offered on Agricultural Equipment’s like the Sprinkler, Power Tiller, Tractors and others.
- Bus or the rail fare of INR 250 is offered to the farmers for undertaking visits to any part of Madhya Pradesh.
SERVICES OFFEREDUNDER THE KISAN ANUDAN YOJANA
There are innumerable services offered under the Kisan Anudan Yojana sponsored by the Government of Madhya Pradesh given below as follows:
- Providing Enhanced Agricultural Equipment’s.
- Distribution of Improved Agricultural Equipment’s.
- Setting up of various Drip Irrigation Units in Madhya Pradesh.
- Enhancing the production of the Sugarcane.
- Regularly arranging the farmers visits in the state by offering INR 1000 to a farmer for a week (Transport and Meals), outside the state for Higher Technical Education.
- Undertaking the Seeds Production Programme for the Small and Marginal Farmers of the Scheduled Tribes and Caste within 10 kilometres of the government farms.
- Small and Marginal Farmers will be offered 15 kg of Urea and 15 Kg of Phosphates at 10% of the actual price in all districts of the state.
- Farmer Inter Regional Exchange Programmes where in INR 350 is given to a farmer and daily allowance of INR 25 for 20 days.
- Undertaking the training of the Farmer Tribes Couples is offered to the farmers and a net scholarship of INR 400 is paid on a monthly basis.
- Encouraging the construction of Tanks at the Government land at the expenses done by the state government.
- Giving 50% discounts on the Construction of the Tube-wells, Pumps and other irrigation techniques.
- Various crops are insured like Jowar, Rice, Wheat, Maize, Kutki, Groundnut, Mustard, Cotton and Potato.
- Horticulture subsidies consisting of the supply of Aromatic and Medicinal Plants.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR THE KISAN ANUDAN YOJANA
There are various eligibility conditions for becoming the member of the Kisan Anudhan Yojana are given below as follows:
- The farmer must be from Madhya Pradesh above 20 years of age.
- The farmer must be educated and at least cleared 10th standard.
- The farmer must be from rural/semi-rural areas of Madhya Pradesh.
- The farmer must not be enrolled under any other agricultural scheme in the state.
- The person must have an active bank account originating from the state of Madhya Pradesh.
- Farmer must have the land areas under his/her name.
- The farmer must be living below the poverty line.
- The farmer must have an active mobile number.
PROCEDURE FOR APPLYING UNDER THE KISAN ANUDAN YOJANA
The Kisan Anudhan Yojana sponsored by the Government of Madhya Pradesh is the vital scheme to protect the interest of the farming community in the state.
The procedure to apply for this scheme is as follows:

- Please enter all the basic details asked in the online form.
- Attach the entire relevant document in the PDF format in the online application form.
- Enter the captcha code as given in the forms.
- Click on the submit button.
- If they require any additional document, then you need to send that relevant document within 7 business days, otherwise your application will get rejected.
- You will get the message in your registered Mobile Number, staring that the application is approved.
DOCUMENT REQUIRED FOR GETTING REGISTERED UNDER THE KISAN ANUDAN YOJANA
The documents mandatory for getting registered under the Kisan Anudhan Yojana are given below as follows.
- Passport Size Photos.
- 10TH Standard Marks Card.
- Birth Certificate verified by the gazetted officer.
- Source of Income Certificate.
- Mobile Number of the farmer.
- Pan Card attested by the gazetted officer.
- No Objection Certificate of the Tahsildar.
- Caste certificate confirmedby the gazetted officer.
- Nativity Certificate signed by the gazetted officer.
- Voter Id, Ration card, signed by the gazetted officer.
- Driving License Xerox signed by the gazetted officer.
- Certificate declaring that applicant is the Small/Marginal Level farmer.
- Bank Passbook presenting the first/last page Xerox signed by the gazetted officer.
The amount of agricultural subsidies is increasing year by year because is the major occupation of Madhya Pradesh, however at the same time total cultivated agricultural land and the investment also is growing. If the government obtains goods like the food grains, higher than the market values and then sells the products lower than the market prices, the subsidies are considered.
