The Nasik Merchants Cooperative Bank Limited is one of the major Co-operative bank located in Nasik in Maharashtra State and established 60 years ago. This bank was create in order to protect the interest of the common man belonging to the poor and the middle class segments in Nasik in Maharashtra State. The policy of the Nasik Merchants Cooperative Bank Limited was to collect the deposits from the rural and backward areas and improve the cash flows.
Some hardworking loyalists and social reformers came forward in order to establish this bank and the name NAMCO cam into being. It is another name for the Nasik Merchants Cooperative Bank and came up on June 11, 1959 on the pious day of Nagapanchami, in Gaidhani Wala by Shri S G Puranik. There were other social reformers in the stage like Gopalrao Pathak, M.S.Aurangabadkar, G.V.Ashtaputre, BabubhaiRathi, Annasaheb Kulkarni, Prabhakarpant Modak, Narayan Vaishya and many other social workers offered an excellent contribution to this cause.
