The Kerala State Co Operative Bank Limited was established in 1914 by the great king of Travancore, His Excellency Sree Moolam Thirunal Ramavarma under the proclamation of “The Travancore Co-operative Societies Regulation Act”. Furthermore in 1915 it began to be known as the Trivandrum Central Cooperative Bank that began to be created under the princely state of Travancore. In the initial scenario we were consisting of 16 plus Co-operative Societies and around 70 plus people were its esteemed members.
The Kerala State Co-operative Bank was registered and retained as an Apex Bank and at a later stage after the creation of districts in 1950 the District Cooperative Banks were getting registered in each district of Kerala. The bank follows the rules and regulations given by the premium banking institution of the nation known as the Reserve Bank of India and premier Agricultural and financial institution known as the National Bank for Agricultural and Rural Development (N A B A R D). In the year 1956, the division of the Indian States took place and the State of ‘Kerala’ was created. The Bank was then promoted to the position of State Co-operative Bank for Kerala State and it became “The Kerala State Co-operative Bank Limited.
