The Akola District Central Cooperative Bank is a very strong Co-operative bank established in Maharashtra with 108 years of service and in the earlier times it was known as the The Akola Central Urban Bank Limited Akola. Furthermore in the year 1908 the leading social workers of the town of Akola established the Central Bank offering the loan to the 14 Co-operative Societies. During 1908, Mr. Hemingway was the Registrar of Co-operative Societies and also issued a registration certificate of the bank on February 5, 1909 and the banks administration has undergone a tremendous change.
Furthermore, during this time there was economic recession and during this time there was tremendous decrease in the agricultural production and during 1930 to 1940 there was lot of financial issues and financial activities of the Akola District Central Cooperative Bank came to a standstill.
The Akola District Central Cooperative Bank started giving the monetary assistance to the farmers according to their needs and interestingly some of them became the members of the board of directors.
