History of State Bank of India

State Bank of India is a major banking body that got nationalised after independence during the 60's and it is the 43rd bank in the world and ranked 221 as per the Fortune 500 list of the global companies in 2020. We have more than 24000 branches in India and received an amazing turnover of INR 2.5 Trillion, out of which the domestic outlay was 96% of the entire revenue. We have more than 20 regional offices and more than 50 plus zonal offices located in major cities of India to reach every Indian. Furthermore, out ATM services are very good, where in we also have our ATM installed in highest altitudes in Ladakh and remotest backwaters of Kerala, where in there is mobile ATM on the boat.

Earlier this bank was known as Imperial Bank of India and we have an amazing history of 200 plus years and has acquired more than 80 banks in this process. The Government of India got the  control of the bank and Reserve Bank of India got the 70% control and renamed the Imperial Bank of India as State Bank of India. The State Bank Institute of Credit and Risk Management, Gurugram is also established in order to train the staff on Credit and Risk related operations in India.
