History of Shri Veershaiv Co Operative Bank Limited

Shri Veershaiv Co Operative Bank Limited was set up on February 4, 1942 due to the growth of the cooperative movement in Maharashtra state. The credit of establishing this bank goes to some prominent leaders like M.D. Shresthi, Mahadevanna Chougule, Dr. N.C. Chikmath, Shivpadanna Nashte, Shri S.G. Swami,Virupaksha Doijad, Kashappanna Karambali, Dadoba Gadave and other leaders in Kolhapur town.  This bank is also known as SVCB Bank.  During this tenure, the Co-operative Societies Act in 1913 was passed in Maharashtra.

We celebrated the Golden Jubilee in 1991 as we have 20 plus branches and reserves of more than INR 64 Crores. We gave financial assistance to all the segment of the society and special importance to the weaker segment of the society like Vegetable Vendors, Small business owners, Craftsman and Farmers.
