History of Saraswat Cooperative Bank Limited

Saraswat Cooperative Bank Limited is a unique cooperative bank located in Prabhadevi a place in suburban Mumbai in Maharashtra. We launched this bank in 1918. The elite group of people that helped in forming this bank is J. K. Parulkar, N. B. Thakur, P. N. Warde and Shivram Gopal Rajadhyaksha. Reserve Bank of India gave the Scheduled Bank status to this bank and at present we have good relationship with 60 nations. 

Interestingly in 1980 we got the permission from the RBI to deal in the foreign currencies and done various merging activities in the last 20 plus years. We tied up with the VISA international in order to issue the VISA Cards and also launched EMV Debit Card in 2014. We are the first financial institution to achieve this amazing feat along with the Bank of Baroda.
