The Janaseva Sahakari Bank Limited was created in the year 1970 at a time when the Cooperative Movement was taking place on a strong note in our economy. The credit of setting up the Janseva Sahakari Bank goes to Prant Pracharak Hon.(Late) Shri. Babarao Bhide, Hon. Shri. Madhukarraoji Temgire, Shri. D.A. alias Mama Hajare and Shri. Devramji Abnave. The name Janseva was taken into account after taking into consideration various names like Bhagyalaxmi Bank, Janta, Janlaxmi and other names.
Furthermore, the bank was created on the auspicious day of Dussehra October 24 1972, and later inaugurated on November 7, 1972 by the Honourable Mayor of Pune Shri Nilubhau Limayeh. Most of the branches of the bank started working from Gandhi Chowk Hadapsar a small area that is owned by Shri. Laxminarayan Mundada with office area of 140 feet. We have at present around 20 branches all over Maharashtra. This year we celebrate the Golden Jubilee of this bank.
