The National Bank of Dubai came into being when the Dubai Ruler Rasheed Bin Saeed Al Makhtoum formed the first National Bank and this bank associated with the Emirates Bank International(EBI) in order to form the Emirates NBD on 16th October 2007 and most of the shares of the Emirates NBD were listed on the leading Dubai Financial Markets.

The merger between the Emirates Bank International and the National Bank of Dubai (NBD) lead to creation of a new banking entity offering quality performance in the field of Retail, Corporate, Islamic and Private banking set ups.
