History of Bank of Maharashtra

The Bank of Maharashtra is one of the major nationalised bank and it is a public sector bank with headquarters in Pune. The bank was founded by  V G Kale and D K Sathe on September 16th 1935. Even during the first world war this bank survived and afterwards there was tremendous growth in the working of this banks. Bank of Maharashtra is result of the handiwork of a great visionary named Shri A R Bhat stressed to have a separate for Maharashtra. 

This Bank of Maharashtra was registered under the Indian Companies Act on September 16, 1935. Various leading businessmen, merchants, social reformers and thinkers living in Pune said to have signed the Memorandum of the Bank.

Shri A S Rajeev is the Managing Director and the CEO of the Bank of Maharashtra.
